Humility pleases God

Dearly beloved in Christ, it is important to remember that with God, no condition is permanent and nothing is beyond possibility. As observed in the story of Job, after enduring the trials inflicted by Satan, Job remained steadfast in his faith. No tragedy or hardship could diminish his trust in God. Ultimately, the Lord recognized his humility and elevated him. There are few instances in the gospel where Jesus rejoiced; however, today’s gospel presents such a moment. The seventy disciples were sent out, and upon their return, they reported the power in the name of Jesus. The Lord also rejoices when we genuinely repent and approach Him with humility. Today, the Church commemorates Saint Therese of Lisieux, Virgin and Doctor of the Church. Despite living only 24 years and passing away from tuberculosis, her diary inspired miracles, leading to her quick canonization. When we excel in small but virtuous acts, God sees our hearts and rewards us with virtues.

Prayer:

Lord, thank you for revealing Your love to me. I aspire to bring joy to You—help me to cultivate humility, childlikeness, and simplicity. I trust that You have prepared a place for me in heaven; aid me in keeping my focus on that goal and not allowing the clouds of the world or my own selfish tendencies to obscure that star. Amen.

Saint Therese, the Little

Flower, please pick me

a rose from the heavenly

garden and send it to

me with a message of love.

Ask God to grant me the

favor I thee implore and

tell Him I will love

Him each day more and more.
