One of the reasons our faith is so challenging is because it calls us to live in ways that often oppose the values and norms of the worldly culture around us. Even so, every time we pray, we are elevating our minds and hearts to God—a form of communication that stands in contrast to worldly distractions and superficial concerns. In fact, the Christian life requires a higher and more profound form of practicing faith through consistent fasting, prayer, and almsgiving, which deepen our personal relationship with the Lord and prepare us for His mission. All we are left with now is an invitation: to love sincerely, to pray earnestly, to fast faithfully, and to give alms generously—not just in theory but through genuine practice. Resolve today to dedicate quality time to prayer, seeking a sincere connection with God and a stronger commitment to living out our faith meaningfully. Just like Elijah implore Elisha to go further with him, the Lord is also asking us today to go an extra mile in our relationship with him through our pious acts of fasting, prayer and alms giving. May God continue to hear our prayers. Amen.

Those who stay vigilant and true when the master arrives will rejoice and be rewarded with eternal life. But beware—those who live wickedly and fail to repent risk missing out on the kingdom altogether! The question is: how are YOU preparing for the Lord's return?   REPORTING LIVE FROM ROME GOOD SHEPHERD, I AM BLESSED AND SO THANKFUL!! I had just wrapped up the final lecture of the day at the Pontifical University of St. Thomas Aquinas in Rome with my thesis moderator, Professor Lewis Ayres. This is the same prestigious university that counts St. Pope John Paul II and Cardinal Francis Prevost among its illustrious alumni!  On my way home, I called my mom to wish her a Happy Birthday, reminding her of my dad’s passing on the same day over a decade ago. We had a good laugh about a seagull perched near the chimney of the Sistine Chapel when, out of nowhere, the news broke—“Habemus papam!” The Cardinal Deacon proclaimed it loud and clear!
