No law so compelling!


There’s a powerful truth that rings loud and clear: the law of love is the most demanding of all! Today’s readings present a stunning illustration of this wisdom, inviting us into an exhilarating journey of reflection on God’s boundless love and care for us. 


Imagine this: Jesus starts with the call to love God, and from that divine foundation, he extends an irresistible invitation to love our neighbors. But look at Ruth! Her loyalty takes center stage as she prioritizes her devotion to Naomi, her mother-in-law, before even considering Naomi’s God. Despite her widowhood, Ruth stands firmly by Naomi’s side, refusing to let her face the struggles of life alone.



This fascinating dynamic serves as a beacon for us amidst the tumultuous landscape of politics, government, and even organized religion today. We discover that our path to God, to love, and to unwavering loyalty, begins with our deep admiration for one another. 



And then there's Jesus, cutting through the chaos of jealousy and bickering! He moves past the drama of “one-upmanship” and argument, offering us a simple yet profound invitation: to embrace a relationship grounded in surrender and self-emptying love. Truly, there is no law more compelling than the law of love! Get ready to dive into this thrilling adventure!
