TRUE TREASURE IS FOUND IN OUR RELATIONSHIP WITH GOD
Wednesday of week 17 in Ordinary Time
Exodus 34:29-35
Psalm 98(99):5-7,9
Matthew 13:44-46
In today’s Gospel, Jesus shares two incredible parables that reveal just how precious the Kingdom of heaven truly is! First, we hear about a treasure hidden in a field—imagine stumbling upon it, quickly hiding it, and then joyfully selling everything you own just to buy that field! What an exhilarating moment! The second parable features a passionate merchant on the hunt for exquisite pearls. When he discovers a pearl of immense worth, he doesn’t hesitate to sell everything he has to claim this treasure!
Both individuals made a bold choice, trading all they had for the promise of something far greater. Their joy was electric because they recognized the dazzling splendor of God’s kingdom!
In our lives, we often chase after the glitter of material possessions, mistakenly believing that true happiness lies in them. But time and again, we realize that earthly treasures can’t bring lasting joy or fulfillment. The real adventure is discovering that true joy, satisfaction, and peace are only found in a relationship with God!
So, what would you be willing to set aside to uncover the treasure that is God? Let’s pray for the strength to focus our hearts solely on Him—a treasure that outshines everything else! May He liberate us from unwanted desires and attachments, allowing us to joyfully give Him all we have in gratitude for His endless blessings. Let’s strive to find joy and delight in His glorious presence every single day. Amen! Have a wonderful day filled with blessings and excitement as we journey through this week!
AMEN. Thank you Jesus
