The Immaculate Heart of Mary

2 Timothy 2:22-26

Psalm 36(37):3-6,30-31

John 17:20-26

Today, we celebrate the amazing feast of the Immaculate Heart of Mary, a vibrant connection to the Sacred Heart of Jesus that we honored just yesterday! This feast highlights the profound joys and sorrows Mary experienced while fulfilling God’s will. It showcases her incredible virtues of obedience and humility, her boundless love for God and Jesus, and her deep compassion for all people.

Picture this: the portrait of the Immaculate Heart features a sword piercing through her heart, entwined with beautiful roses or lilies. This striking image reflects Simeon's poignant prophecy from Luke 2:41-51, foretelling the sorrows Mary would endure alongside Jesus. Even when life left her feeling perplexed, Mary’s heart—purified by the Holy Spirit—overflowed with trust in God’s love, protection, and providence. She “kept all these things in her heart,” pondering life’s mysteries.

Just like Mary, we too possess that sacred inner space in our hearts where we meet the Divine. It’s a realm that beckons us deeper, urging us to trust more fully and dive into the silence. In a world bustling with family responsibilities, work commitments, community engagements, and endless church activities, how often do we carve out time to reconnect with our innermost selves?

Mary found strength and peace through contemplation, cherishing a holy space where she could truly connect with God. Let’s take inspiration from her example! It’s time to dedicate moments just to BE—to step into that sacred space where God awaits us, ready to nourish our souls for the journey ahead and grant us true peace.

Feeling overwhelmed or weighed down by life? Why not take a pause and rest in the gentle embrace of God’s love, found deep within your heart? May we receive the grace to cherish all that God is doing in our lives through reflection in our hearts. And just like Mary, let’s step out and share His light wherever we go! Amen.

Wishing you a fantastic day filled with grace! Embrace a wonderful weekend ahead, and may the Immaculate Heart of Mary intercede for us all!

And don't forget to pray at least five decades of the Holy Rosary for our country's situation!
