TWO PILLARS ONE FOUNDATION
Today, with one heart we dive into the remarkable lives of two extraordinary figures of the Church, Saints Peter and Paul! These were not just any men; one was a rugged fisherman, and the other a learned Pharisee and tentmaker. Both were ordinary yet possessed an extraordinary calling that transformed them into pillars of faith. Can you imagine the courage it took for them to embrace the truth that Christ revealed to them? Through storms of suffering and fierce trials, they held steadfast to the divine truth in their hearts!
How did these everyday men accomplish such incredible feats?
Just picture it: the angel says to Peter, “Put on your belt and sandals!” And without hesitation, Peter obeys. Then, “Put on your cloak and follow me.” Acts 12:8. Even in the shadow of imprisonment, Saint Peter found unwavering hope in Jesus Christ! He listened intently and followed the angel out of his cell, awoken from sleep by the call to action. In that moment, he wasn’t paralyzed by fear; he was fueled by the profound passion for the One he had devoted three years to. When Jesus asked him, “Who do you say that I am?” Peter boldly proclaimed, “You are the Christ, the Son of the living God!” (Matthew 16:15-16).
And what about Saint Paul? Let’s not forget about his inspiring journey! Even while facing imprisonment, he wasn’t afraid of death. He stood tall, knowing he had fulfilled his mission to proclaim the Kingdom of God. Once an ordinary man blinded by zeal to persecute Christians, Paul experienced a divine wake-up call — a dazzling light and a humbling fall! From that moment, he transformed into a tireless messenger of Christ, carrying the Gospel to the Gentiles and beyond, all the way to the far reaches of the Roman world! His passion for the truth burned deep, urging him to act fearlessly in faith.
Now, think about this: we too are called to rise above our ordinary selves to become something far greater! This incredible transformation comes alive through faith, prayer, hope, and trust in Christ. So, what is Christ calling you to do today?
Happy Solemnity!
Same to you Fada, happy Sunday.
