Do you believe in the existence of angels ? 


The belief in the existence of angels has been a topic of interest for many, with references found in biblical scriptures. Angels, described as pure spirits, serve as messengers of God, facilitating the communication and ministry between God and humanity. The Old Testament uses the term "Malak" to depict angels as "messengers," "delegates," or "ambassadors."


Notable archangels such as Michael, Gabriel, and Raphael are mentioned in biblical texts, each carrying out specific divine missions. Despite historical and contemporary skepticism about the existence of angels, references to these spiritual beings are evident in sacred scriptures and teachings, including the Gospels.



Pope John Paul II, in a 1986 general audience, highlighted the significance of acknowledging the world of angels, emphasizing the spiritual aspect of human existence. Furthermore, Saint Augustine's assertion that "Every visible thing in this world is put in the charge of an Angel" underscores the perceived role of angels in the earthly realm.



While beliefs about angels vary, the notion of embodying angelic qualities and being a source of divine influence to others resonates across different perspectives. The invocation of angelic attributes, as demonstrated by various biblical figures, serves as a testament to the enduring impact of angelic presence and intervention.



In conclusion, the discourse on angels encompasses a spectrum of beliefs and interpretations, yet it remains an enduring aspect of spiritual and religious contemplation, inspiring individuals to embody benevolence and divine virtues in their interactions with others.

Instead, they react defensively and deceive themselves, eventually acting out the negative roles depicted in the parable.  The Church commemorates the Martyrs of Uganda today, particularly St. Charles Lwanga and their companions, who bore witness to Christ by sacrificing their lives. This serves as a reminder for us to be faithful stewards of God's creation and caretakers of His people, willing to serve with love and faith, even to the point of laying down our lives.
